Mill Introduces GyrokinesisŪ and Dance Conditioning
and brings Breakdancing Back.
Registration is underway for classes which commence on September
14, 2009. You can now register for fall classes online or the old-fashioned
way (pen and paper). Click

New Class Offerings
Consider taking one or more of the following classes to enhance and
compliment your ballet technique class.
Dance Conditioning - This class targets the muscles
used for dance. The objective is to strengthen and improve the coordination
of those muscles as well as balance and align the joints. The exercises
are dance specific and incorporate the useof elastic bands. Core
training is also a component of this class.
Specialty-
This class will focus on the many different components of the classical
ballet class, giving students a deeper understanding of the technique
and art form. Students will spend 4 - 6 weeks on adagio, pirouettes,
allegro, and musicality as well as other class components.
Gyrokinesis-This form of exercise offers the same
benefits as yoga, dance, gymnastics, swimming and Tai Chi. The fluidity
of the movements lend an ease to the technique, allowing anyone
the ability to perform the exercises. Postures are not held for
a long time. Instead they are smoothly connected through the use
of breath, making exercises lookand feel more like a dance than
like traditional yoga.
